With an expressive, unique, and fluid design of the wood that adorns the whole structure of the body, the Estaiada armchair is a perfect case of investigation of the potentiality of the wood, placing it in perfect harmony with form and function. The design had its direct inspiration in the aesthetic and architectural elements of the cable-stayed bridges, usually found as functional elements, but also as iconic features in the landscape of the cities. The elongated and continuous drawing of the wood starts from the legs and goes up to the arms, which matches the structure with leather, strings that welcome sitting. The cushion on the back is a delicate surface that offers more comfort when sitting. The repetition created with the leather strings, which is an analogy to the cable-stayed structure, and the way the strings are braided, are related to handmade constructions. This handmade style denotes aspects of crafts, fine arts and culture, giving the object a unique identity.
